These storycloths are very special and very rare. We doubt if you will find anyone else offering these extra large storycloths. What's so remarkable about these storycloths is they represent not only the Hmong, but the Lao, Mien and Lao Theung ethnic groups, all except for the last one which is all Hmong.
We realize that the Hmong are the largest ethnic group living here in the United States, but the Lao and Mien also came to the states as refugees because of the Secret War, just in smaller numbers. And it seems that if a school or community includes all three ethnic groups, they all should be recognized equally, which doesn't always happen...
These storycloths would be a great asset for a school that has Hmong, Mien and Lao students and wanted to portray how all three ethnic groups live and work together in Laos and share similar lifestyles. There's an enormous amount of teaching potential in storycloths like these.
To showcase a storycloth like this at a school or community building would be a powerful acknowledgment that the Hmong, Mien and Lao mattered and that their cultures are respected.
