All the scarves in this section are a variation on the theme of a Tai Daeng Shaman's Ceremonial Headcloth. These textiles were woven by weavers within one extended family in Nongbouatong and one of the weavers is featured in the photo of the section page highlighting the Tai Daeng.
The weavers would often refer to the antique head cloth shown in the photo while weaving to guide them in their patterning, but wove in their own interpretation, and correspondingly each scarf in the series is unique and one-of-a-kind.
